there will be import duty and postal charge on that but still cheap

That included postage - and the parts I've imported from the States recently that were due import charges didn't.

unless using global shipping ive been charged £30 import duty plus a charge from post office on parts bought from u.s

I usually get charged import duty and then VAT on the item and import duty and, if using UPS, a £20 handling charge. Can work out very expensive. I try to avoid buying from the states now. Also if you have any sort of problem (as I have) it can be impossible to sort out.

Yes - normal thing with parts from the US - (if not using Global Shipping)
As far as I can tell - it's a % duty (rate depending on what it is) + shipping plus 20% VAT - usually get a card through the door from the post office with a demand for money before they will deliver.
It will be the same for parts from Europe after the end of this year too...
-
if you pay the man for them and get him to say blasted and cleaned second hand cost 35 dollars or less you don't pay any charges as under 35 dollars no charges ,also no charges from post office as these are charges for collecting money for taxes etc.most probably best to send as two separate parcels.
-
Since the pandemic started I've not paid a penny import duty from any ware (not just tariff free zones).
I try not to use ebay Global Shipping as it is expensive and slow.
I still find most stuff from the US (even with import duty and shipping) cheaper than buying over here.

In Ireland we get hit for vat and import duty the odd delivery gets through but most are stopped and assessed but looks like that is the way i will be going
Thanks for the advice
Cheers
