Roller Starter
« on: January 26, 2020, 03:55:02 PM »
I’m looking for a roller starter to avoid push starting a 350 single Ducati. Really needs to run off a battery for paddock use. Does anyone have one for sale?

Speak to Gary Abbott. He made a batch last season. I've no doubt he will do another run this year as they were very good.

Hi Simon

Looks like you have a few options already but give me a call if I can help (07887502219).

Made a few of these and used my own throughout last year to start my 350 and 500 goldstars.  Not as ingenious  as Arthur's design but worked well.

Thanks All, really appreciate the offers and advice.
So I guess for me it really comes down to price and availability (i’ve got a bike I have recommissioned and  started once and cannot repeat the result, so to diagnose the issue I either need a bigger hill or a starter). I’d really like to get her running again properly ASAP.

John, i’m definitely interested if you have a complete starter you want to sell, I’ll send you a PM, if you can send me details it would be greatly appreciated.

Gary, i’ll give you a call over the weekend to discuss your starter. Will it take long to make one?

Arthur, very innovative design! Have you made a batch yet or is it still at the prototype stage? I’ll send you a PM.

Thanks all for your help, i’m Off to spend an evening going through the HJ Pughs auction catalogue to find more spares I probably shouldn’t buy but might come in handy one day...

So having considdered all the options I have purchased a starter from Gary Abbott.

Gary built me one quickly (And provided photo updates as it was being built), it was a good price and I must say upon recipt of it i'm very pleased.

Gary, thanks a lot. I would certainly recommend your starter to others.

Thanks to all who answered my post, very much appreciated.
